The day came when josh had to hit the road for a two day tour. Two days and three shows, not to bad. It wasn't to far away either but still far enough away he needed to get a hotel room. He was actually looking forward to it now, Lottie was coming with him. It could be another mini get away for them, they could use that.
They had been a few hours on the road and they where going pretty good. This run of shows where all solo shows. Nothing major, really, tonights show was at a small theater that liked to hire singer song writers, and saturdays shows where at a festival. Saturday he was filling in with a band, he was looking forward to that one.
The drive took a while to get to the town. He had the gps on and they where heading to the hotel before load in, just to check into the hotel and get everything set up then he'd go to the theater and set up his stuff, it wouldn't take much to set up what he needed. Soon, the gps turned them into the drive way of the hotel. He found a parking lot and shut the car off. "Ready?" He asked, as he took the car keys and stepped out of the car. He waited for Lottie before he'd go in get the room keys and come for the bags.

It felt insanely good to leave town behind for the weekend. Lottie had been dying to leave ever since the whole thing with Rick happened. Due tot he bruises he'd left her with, going out i public wasn't even an option for the most part. She knew too many people and didn't want anyone asking her what had happened and how she'd gotten to look like that. She didn't want to tell anyone and if it hadn't been for Josh coming over to her home and seeing her she would have never told anyone and just let herself disappear from the world.
When they arrived at the hotel, Lottie grinned and slipped out of the car slowly, making sure she didn't hurt her leg as she did so and used her crutches to walk over to him. She'd been able to start walking on her leg right before her encounter with Rick but now it just seemed like she'd damaged it even more from the struggle. "So ready," she replied once she was beside him. I'm happy you let me come along." She said smiling at him.

He came around to her side of the car when she stepped out. He leaned over and kissed her cheek quickly before he started to head for the door. He would let her hang out in the room and he'd load in. He had a few hours to settle in before he had to be at the venue for load in and sound check. He was looking forward to being out of Newport. Away from the studio and well, just being away. Especially being away with Lottie.
He nodded to her, "Thank you for coming with me, makes the trip a little more fun." he walked a little ways ahead of her and opened the door of the hotel for her to come in, he followed her in then and walked up the hotel. "Hi, here to check in." He went through the whole works with the front desk clerk before he was finally handed two keys which he gave one to lottie. He'd make sure the room was correct before he went to the car and got their stuff.
