Why couldn't my life just be normal for a few fucking hours? Why couldn't I get a moments peace or hold my wife? No it seems like soemthing always happens. I jump in my black car and speed down the road to the site I was told someone was shooting. Ashooting at this time of night? Really? I should be in bed right now!

I rounded the corner and slammed the car in park. After climbing out of the car, i pulled my gun from it's holster and walked around to the alley where I knew the man was. It seemed since joining up on the force and such, I managed a sixth sense for this shit. Like I knew where he stood and where he was aiming. Don't ask me how.

I rounded the corner, gun drawn and aimed at the man. "Put the gun down man! You don't want this!" I barked the order. He jumped and swung around to aim at me. That won't work one bit. "Easy, I'm not going to hurt you if you just put the gun down." Who the fuck are you!? the man screamed at me.

"I'm a cop, but lower your gun, bud. We'll takecare of this, make it go away, just lower the gun." I told him calmly. The twitch under his left eye had me uneasy. He was twitchy, nervous. He could snap at any moment. The man lowered his gun to the ground and i was relaxing a bit. But just as he was about to set it on the pavement, some cops ran up behind me shouting and the man grabbed up his gun, fired a few shots and turned away to run. The only thingI remember was the pain exploding in my chest and my hand lifting to my chest to feel the from liquid seeping through my shirt. Blood.

I fell to my kneels, mumbling something I can't remember.Everything came in flashes then. I don't remember hitting the ground, but opened my eyes to see the emts, then woke up again in the hospital, and then I was floating....

Floating....

Dead man's river....

And the pain spread through me, my heard i could fee, beat faintly. My eyes were heavy and my lips dry.

I opened my eyes, bright lights... so closed them again....

Then I was floating. Above me in the many dark clouds there was a face that shone through. A face I knew so well... My angel, my guardian, my love and my wife.... Kadi..


And I remember nothing after that.
