The last few days had been a bit tough on Josh, he wouldn't lie about that. The woman of his dreams just seemed to up and leave him for no damn reason, well her reason he believed was because she was scared. He knew she had a lot happen to her in the past, but she didn't even give him a chance to show her that he was different, that he was better then the rest of them. No, instead of giving him a chance she left. He was heartbroken, but he tried his best to go on and maybe even act as if he didn't feel like he was dying.
Josh needed distractions. He needed something to keep himself busy and to keep his mind off of Lottie. It felt like the walls where closing in on him, It was hard to breath, hard to keep things straight and just hard to stay focused. He had spent a lot of time at the studio, taking out his frustrations on the piano that lived in one of the booths. He had gone home after a while and just felt empty, what was the point of this? What was the point of it all? He knew the old saying, better to have loved and loss then to have never loved at all. What a load of horse shit.
Distractions, he needed a good distraction to get himself out of this gloom and doom, get himself out of this self pity. He lost her, she was gone. Get over it Josh. Easier said then done.
The only good thing about this situation was the fact he had gotten a few decent songs out of it. So, maybe he was trying to look on the bright side of things? Doubtful, really doubtful.
At the moment his only distraction was his music… and alcohol.. But mostly music. He was far from an alcoholic and he knew the beer really wasn't going to do anything but it did help him sleep. Which he was having trouble doing lately. But the music seemed to be helping him the most, that and Leon and Blue, they where doing their best to cheer him up. Which some days worked, other days he just wanted to be left alone.
When all else falls apart, music holds you together.
That's exactly what Josh felt right now, he felt his world had been shattered and now the only way he could put it back together, at least in his mind, was music. He had been doing his own solo shows for a about two years, he had been in bands in the past and just felt like he couldn't do his own thing or just couldn't get to where he wanted to be with that particular band. He would fill in with a random band every now and then and the band he had been filling in the most offered him a permanent spot. He took the job, he needed to the distraction, he needed the busy schedule of the band. They where booked three to four shows a week, going anywhere from Nashville to Wisconsin to Wyoming. Josh did not by any means plan on moving, he had his studio here. But the money was good enough that he could make the hike to meet the band in some city or even fly in to meet them.
It was all for the best, he liked the group of people he'd be with and he really enjoyed the music they played. The group was a band called Mountain Heart, What genre you'd call them well, they did a little bit of everything from Country to Bluegrass to pop to blues. They where an acusticanna band people liked to call them, a hard driving energetic band full of life and music. They where a bands band, and josh was in all honestly, looking forward tot he new adventure a new distraction.
